STUDENT SAFETY EXPECTATIONS
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
All individuals, including but not limited to visitors, students, faculty, and staff are expected to adhere to TechLaunch Academy COVID-19 Protocols to maintain a healthy and safe environment for all members of our community. Individuals who fail to follow these requirements will not be permitted access to the facilities and will be asked to leave if they are already on campus.

HYGIENE
Handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself from getting sick. Always wash or sanitize your hands before touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
DAILY SELF CHECKS
TechLaunch Academy recommends that everyone completes daily self-checks using the CDC’s Coronavirus Self-Checker to determine if self-quarantine is necessary. The purpose of the Coronavirus Self-Checker is to help you make decisions about seeking appropriate medical care. This system is not intended for the diagnosis or treatment of diseases, including COVID-19.
REPORT EXPOSURE
All individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19 or have had close contact with a positive COVID-19 individual or are experiencing COVID-like symptoms must immediately notify TechLaunch Academy. Timely cooperation with the TechLaunch Academy is vital to mitigating the threat of COVID-19 on TechLaunch Academy’s campuses.
“Close Contact” is defined as being less than 6 feet from another person for a cumulative time of 15 minutes or more, in a 24-hour period, regardless of wearing masks.
Students must report exposure to Safety@nhflorida.com
EXPOSURE
- Tested positive for COVID-19
- Close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19
- Experiencing COVID-like symptoms
If you are exposed, even if you are fully vaccinated follow the following guidelines:
- Seek medical attention
- Do not come to campus
- Report it immediately

STAY HOME IF SICK
TechLaunch Academy recommends that all students, faculty, and team members do not report to work or school if they are sick. Students, faculty, and staff should refer to the TechLaunch Academy’s website for specific instructions and notify their instructor and/or supervisor if they are sick.

COVID-19 Symptoms
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms or combinations of symptoms may have COVID-19:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fever/ Chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- Runny nose or new sinus congestion
- Fatigue
- New gastrointestinal symptoms
*This list is not all-inclusive. Please consult a medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning.
When to Seek Medical Attention
Look for emergency warning signs* for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:
- Trouble breathing
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- New confusion
- Inability to wake or stay awake
- Bluish lips or face

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS
All individuals, including vaccinated, must follow the guidance and direction from TechLaunch Academy faculty and staff as well as adhere to posted signs at TechLaunch Academy facilities. These signs provide guidelines and expectations for the health and safety of all members of our community.
